Family plan service is good, some waits

We switched our family to a Family Sharing Program with OneShare Health. The cost savings compared to our old insurance were significant. The signup was pretty smooth, and we got our member cards quickly. When I called member services about a question on our Prescription Discount Program, I did have to wait on hold for a bit, maybe 10-15 minutes, which was a little annoying. But once I got through, the representative was helpful and answered all my questions. Overall, it's a good value, but they could improve on call wait times.

So happy with OneShare Complete!

I just enrolled in the OneShare Complete plan and it was such a great experience! The website was super easy to navigate and the sign-up process took no time at all. I was a bit nervous about switching from traditional insurance but their team answered all my questions clearly. I feel so much better knowing I have this support. The Telemedicine Access is a huge bonus for me. I'm definitely recommending OneShare Health to my friends and family who are looking for alternatives. This is a real blessing!

Good basic sharing plan

I signed up for OneShare Basic last month. The process was quick online. Everything was clear, no hidden fees. Happy with it so far.

Consistent service with Group Sharing

We've been using OneShare Health for our small business for about two years now, and we just renewed our Group Sharing Plan. This year's renewal was as straightforward as the previous ones. The process is always clear, and we know exactly what to expect. We've had a few employees use the Mental Health Support Services, and they reported positive experiences. It's really reassuring to have a consistent and reliable option for our team's health needs. They've maintained good service over time, which is why we keep coming back.

Switched to individual plan, worked out

So I was looking for something different for my health needs and landed on OneShare. Decided to try an Individual Sharing Program. The sign-up process wasn't too bad, just a few forms online. Got my member info sent over in about a week. Haven't had to use it much yet, but it feels good to have something in place. The cost is definitely better than what I was paying before, which is the main thing for me. Seems like a solid option.

Are there any discounts for new members signing up? Like a waived application fee or something?

D Daisy Walsh 3 weeks ago
Sometimes they do waive the application fee, usually during special promotions. Keep an eye out for those.

Yeah, I got in with a waived application fee last year. They also have that referral program where both you and the referrer get a bonus, like $50-$100 usually. That's a good way to save some cash up front.

Is OneShare Health legit? Seems almost too good to be true compared to regular insurance costs.

A Andre 1 month ago
They're a real company, yeah. Been around for a bit. It's just a different model than typical insurance, which is why it costs less.

Totally legit. They're a non-profit Christian ministry. It's not insurance, so the rules are different, but they definitely share costs for members. Just make sure you understand how sharing ministries work before joining.

Thinking about signing up, but I'm in Dallas. How long does it usually take for coverage to kick in after you join?

N Nick 1 month ago
There's definitely a waiting period for some stuff. Not everything is immediate. I'd check their site for the specifics on what has a wait and how long, it varies by program I think.

For basic stuff like preventive care, it's pretty quick. But for more serious conditions or pre-existing ones, you might have to wait a while, sometimes months. It's not like instant coverage for everything.

Thinking about OneShare Health vs Medi-Share. Any big differences or reasons to pick one over the other?

S Steve Torres 4 weeks ago
Both are sharing ministries, so similar concept. I'd compare the specific programs they offer and how their sharing amounts (ISAs) work. Some people find one's faith statement more aligned with theirs too.

Medi-Share might have a slightly longer history, but OneShare has some good programs too. I'd look at the monthly contributions and what's covered for pre-existing conditions and preventative care in detail. Sometimes one will have better mental health or telemedicine options depending on the plan.

What's the deal with their network of doctors? Can I use my current doctor or do I have to pick from their list?

R Ryan Bennett 1 month ago
I think they have a network, but it's not super restrictive like some HMOs. You should be able to find out if your doctor is in it pretty easily.

L Lisa Foster 1 month ago
They generally use networks, but they're usually pretty broad. You can definitely check with member services or their website to see if your current doctor accepts their sharing program. It's not always a locked-in list, but it's good to confirm.
